Set in China, in the middle of the cultural revolutioin in the early 1970s, in a small village where the interletuals are " re-eduacted" by the peasants. The film focus s on the three people. Ma is a violinist. Her friend Luo has renamed one of the mozart's Sonates as mozart thinks about. Chairman Mao in order to please the village head. Two accomplices meet a little seamtress with whom they hatch an amorous and literary Plot, though the medium of the literary calssics by Flaubert, Dumas, Tolstoy and Balzac that thet read the secret.
