Detective Charlie Chan ( Andy Lau ) is hired to guard a priceless copy of the holy Koran. Super thief Cho Fei-fan ( Teddy Robin ) and ace gunman Ma Ju-Lung ( Tsui Siukeung ) both have designs on the artefact, leading to a three-way battle of wits. Finally,l the trio join forces against Soong, the true villain of the piece. Though Soong is defeated, the eventual fate of the Korean remains a mystery.
