A touching comedy of friendship and love that takes place against a backdrop of economic decline after the war. One day, Dean Shek, a poor wanderer, runs into a police chase over Wong Wai, an orphan manipulated by the wicked Carl Mak to commit crimes. Dean feels sorry for him and decided to take care of him. The two become great friends. Later, Dean falls in love with a singer bringing out some hilarious but romantic scenes. Meanwhile, Carl is dealing in slave trading and has kidnapped the orphan and the singer. With the help of Wu Ma who usually just drinks his days away, Dean puts out the most heroic act to rescue them.
