City slicker Alan (Alan Tam) unwrittingly becomes the subject of a psychological experiment, as a university study group creates an artifical romance in order to see whether 'true love' will change his personality for the better JoJo (Brigitte Lin) is the girl chosen to entice him, but the best-land plans of the boffins keep going away. Meanwhile, a genuine mutual attraction develops between Alan and JoJo. Realising this, JoJo backs aways, asking her fiance, who is organising the experiment, to stop it. However, its now too late. Alan, now deeply in love with JoJo, disrupts her wedding ceremony, begging her to run away with him instead. Action ace Ringo Lam crafts a very different kind of tale, one that balances comedy and romance with an understated social commentary.
