"FAT" (Stephen Chiau) was one of four secret agents hired to protect the emperor in ancient China. Unlike the other three, who had extraordinary martial arts skill, FAT had no muscle but was an obsessed inventor of gadgets. With a brilliant mind, he, the most neglected of the team, disguised as a doctor awaiting orders from the emperor.
FAT and his wife lived happily. In a plot assassinate the emperor, a rival tribe spread a rumor that it had successfully captured the corpse of an extraterrestrial. All the top practitioners of medicine went to witness theautopsy. FAT was finally put to work to protect the emperor who attended the event in disguise.
FAT became a hero for destroying the plot. His next mission was to check out a famous prostitute whom the emperor admired. But FAT fell completely head over heel for her, which was later found out by his loving wife and the emperor. What was to become of FAT ......?
