Frankie plays the son of a doctor, and he himself is very interested in medicine, but his father (played by Lau Kong) forbids it because he wants Frankie to be a government official and once you become a doctor, you have to be doctor for the rest of your life.When Frankie was younger, he passed the first test that is need to become a government official but he never passed the second test, after trying many times. Michelle plays a girl who at first pretends to be a medicine fairy but Frankie discovers that she is not a fairy.
Frankie and Michelle fall in love from the same interest in medicine and they want to complete Frankie's dream, to rewrite the Herbalist Manual, but at the same time, Frankie's brother (played by Ai Wei) had also fallen in love with Michelle. They both don't know that they have fallen in love with the same person. On the other hand, Frankie is engaged but his doesn't tell Michelle. Selena meets Kenneth in town and he falls in love with her. Kenneth also bumps into Frankie, and they have an argument, but they both have a love of medicine also, Kenneth being in training to be an imperial doctor.
So, Frankie goes off to take the test but is disqualified because he was framed for cheating. While he in the capital, his brother proposes to Michelle with the jade that belongs to Frankie, Michelle, mistaking that Frankie's brother is proposing for him, agrees. This misunderstanding leaves Frankie, Michelle, Selena and Kenneth in a love rectangle where no matter what happens, some one gets hurt.
