YIP TING (Lee Sze Kei, Louise) has just returned to Hong Kong from France. She is determined to become an outstanding reporter, but she is so upright and careless and always makes things worse. She quearrels with her supervisor HONG CHI-KIU (Shek Sau) a lot. KIU, nevertheless, appreciates her courage and determination; he just does not show it. As time goes by, he falls in love with her. A reporter should never be swayed by emotions, but whenever KIU comes across a newsy story, she cannot help but sympathize with her interviewees. A man named TSANG AH-CHOI (Lau Kong) claims that he is an emperor. Everbody thinks that he is insane, but TING tries all she could to improve his life. CHUNG MEI-KUEN (Chow Sau Lan) is knocked down by a truck. TING happens to have taken photos of the accident. She decides to dig up KUEN's past. Later, she causes herself a lot of trouble by meddling in a family dispute
