KOO SAI LUNG (CHUN PUI) is the head of a winery. Out of kindness, he adopts his ex-girlfriend's illegitimate son SHUN (LAM KA TUNG). SHUN is cheerful and tolerates any kind of abuse. SHUN has been secretly in love with LUNG's younger sister, YIU (TANG SHUI MAN), yet she cannot forget her late lover, KAU CHUN (TSANG WAI KUEN).
LUNG's only son, KWAI SANG (MA TAK CHUNG), serves in the army. The family has not heard from him for a long time and assumes that he is dead. LUNG sets up marriage for SANG with LAI SHUN FUNG (SHEN CHARMAINE), who works as a ferry lady. FUNG has conflicts with the Koo family. SHUN stands by her all along. Later when LUNG has a stroke, the family falls apart. With SHUN's help, FUNG takes up the responsibility of managing both the family and the winery. When their love starts to sparkle, SANG appears out of the blue
