The story is set in the late Qing period when ghost-catcher Cheung Ho Yee (Chor Yuen) brings his two disciples Beiping (Chin Siu Ho) and Nanjing (Lai Yiu Cheung) from Beijing to Hong Kong. Ping meets a pair of beautiful twin sisters Piu Hung and Piu Suet (both played by Sammi Cheng) and falls in love with the deceased Suet. Ping later joins the police force and comes across a rich man's daughter Tin Lai (Emily Kwan). Lai loves Ping a lot but Ping remains loyal to Suet. Lai commits suicide and transforms herself as a fierce ghost to revenge on Ping. In order to save Ping, Hung who secretly admires Ping sacrifices her own life...
